Pro One Design 2° Rear Pinion Shims

For stock applications, a 1°–3° pinion angle has traditionally been considered an acceptable operating range. However, lifted trucks can change rear driveline geometry enough that the traditional specification may not always provide the smoothest results.

During testing, we encountered trucks that measured within the typical 1°–3° range yet developed a noticeable rear driveline vibration around 70 MPH under acceleration. To address the issue, we installed our 2° Pinion Shims to increase the pinion angle.

After installation, the affected trucks measured approximately 4°–5° of pinion angle, and the driveline vibration was eliminated. Both test vehicles remained smooth under power throughout the speed range.

Our testing showed that lifted applications may require a different pinion-angle setup than a stock truck. The Pro One Design 2° Pinion Shims provide a simple way to fine-tune rear driveline geometry and can help eliminate high-speed driveline vibration caused by an incorrect operating angle.
